London, Feb 5 (Calcutta Tube) Hollywood actor Logan Lerman has emerged as the frontrunner to take over the role of Tobey Maguire in the new ‘Spider-Man’ movie.

The young star of upcoming film ‘Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief’ has revealed that he is in talks to play the superhero’s alter-ego, Peter Parker, in a movie prequel, reported contactmusic.com.

‘There have been a few discussions, it’s definitely something I’m looking into. It’s one of my favourite characters ever and I’m a huge fan of the series. I’d love to have more conversations about it. I’m definitely very interested in it,’ said Lerman.

The new film came about when Maguire and ‘Spider-Man 4′ director Sam Raimi quit the project last month.
