Uttam Kumar on Postage Stamps-Birthday Tribute: September 3rd
Today is the biggest day in Bengali Cinema as we celebrate the birthday of Mahanayak Uttam Kumar on 3rd of September. To make his birthday memorable, a series of new postage stamps is released in Kolkata today featuring Uttam Kumar, Suchitra Sen from various movies. One stamp featured a very romantic poster of Uttam-Suchitra from the Bengali Film Shilpi released in 1956. The Department of Posts also released a brochure on the Uttam Kumar Stamp release with a note that says “Uttam Kumar – The Legend of Indian Cinema”.
