Who Objected the Release of Trishna? West Bengal Film Publicity Act
Why objection huh? Skimpy, seductive Rituparna Sengupta Showing too much!
Trishna Movie Details: http://calcuttatube.com/2008/12/12/trishna-2008/
Trishna has been tremendously popular and flooded with Rituparna’s stills from the movie over the internet and newspapers and TV. However, the West Bengal Film Publicity Act rejected the public presentation of some movie posters of Trishna. The West Bengal Film Publicity Act is basically a local body who gives clearance for films to be released in West Bengal only. Such act does not exist in any other Indian States. Trishna was all set to release at the end of 2008 but even in January 2009, it is still waiting for it’s destiny.
Rituparna Sengupta is a National Award winning actress and is currently rated number one in Bengali cinema who is successfully venturing in Bollywood also. We can expect great things from the actress. With her fame and status, she really does not have to act in a cheap 3rd grade film at all.
Now stop here for a moment and think.
In Calcutta and around there are still numerous movie halls that are known for “B-Grade” movies (some of them are very hot favorite for the college goers). Most of such movie halls plays “B-Grade” Tamil/Telegu sex movies that almost always includes one bath scene, couple of bed scene, one swim-suit scene, one killing, one honest policeman, some villain, and all. Those films are running very well in many movie halls in Calcutta and sometimes such movies are shown as the “night show” after the regular show hours. If the Telegu/Tamil films are not available, the usually choose some old worthless English films that has some seductive posters. So, the point is Calcutta is full of Seductive posters all over it. We can not deny that those pictures surely draws some crowd also. You can very well debate about the “culture” and all that, but if you really think you will know that seduction is just the part of life. You can not expect a Bengali lady coming out of the sea wearing a sari in movies anymore.
CalcuttaTube strongly protests the objection by West Bengal Film Publicity Act against the release of Trishna.
If you have something to say, it is time to say NOW.
