The Commemorative stamp on Rabindranath Tagore and Mother Teresa

Kolkata, Aug 25 (Calcutta Tube/IBNS)  The Commemorative stamp on  Rabindranath Tagore and Mother Teresa, the two Nobel laureates from Bengal, will mark the poet’s 150th and the nun’s 100th birth anniversaries.

This would be a way of honouring the poet for his immortal play ‘Dakghar’ (post office) as the Nobel laureate had dreamt during his childhood of working in the post office,  Director of General Post Office, Kolkata, Anil Kumar, said.

For the commemorative stamp on the founder of the Missionaries of Charity,  work was underway to to have the best way to depict her work and services for the downtrodden and helpless, he added.

First Day Covers, diaries, greetings cards and calendars on the poet and the Albanian nun, who made Kolkata her home, would also be released this year to mark the occasions.
