Kolkata, May 11 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS) The Tata Group has called a report in The Times of India on its involvement with the entertainment industry as factually incorrect and said it has no plans to enter the entertainment industry.
“The Tata Group has no plans to enter the Indian entertainment industry,” it said in a statement, adding that it is not planning any film titled Nano, the dirt-cheap small car from the Tata Motors.
“The Tata Group has no plans to fund any musical or films nor have any meetings taken place with film makers,” it said, adding that there is no project under consideration to make a film titled ‘Nano’.
“Mr. Tata and the Tata Group have never been associated with the entertainment industry as has been claimed in the article [in Calcutta Times, the city supplement of The Times of India].
“The film mentioned in the article, titled ‘Aetbaar’, which was released in 2004, was produced by the company which had been sold by the Tata Group in September 2003,” the group said in a statement.
“The story is incorrect, mischievous and contrary to all facts. It is regretted that the publication did not check the authenticity of their information before going to press,” the statement said.
