Bollywood filmmaker Onir talks about the film I Am, starring Anurag Kashyap, Nandita Das, Anurag Basu and more. According to Onir, Kashyap was a victim of child abuse for 11 years and wanted this subject to be made to create awareness. Two more directors – Anurag Basu and Nandita Das – will all be seen acting in the film. ‘There are four directors working on the film. Three of them are acting, while I’m directing it,’ said Onir.
Bollywood actress-filmmaker Nandita Das asks ‘What difference does it make whether you call it Bombay or Mumbai?’. The actress has moved to Mumbai after living in the national capital for years. The main reason she shifted base this year, she says, is for the sake of her love – husband Subodh Maskara.
Actress Nandita Das after winning Filmware awards for her directorial debut Firaaq, is now looking at directing another film. In the meantime, she is shooting for Onir’s movie Afia, where she plays a wife desperate to be a mother.
Oscar-winning British actor-filmmaker Ben Kingsley who stars in Bollywood Hindi movie Teen Patti is all praise for Indian women directors Nandita Das and Leena Yadav. The actor now wants to make his own film in India instead of doing more Bollywood movies.
