Bollywood has heaved a sigh of relief with the success of Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Housefull’ and has lined up more impressive biggies – ‘Badmaash Company’, ‘Kites’, ‘Raajneeti’ and ‘Raavan’ – to scorch the summer screens. Close to Rs.250 crore (Rs 2500 million) is collectively riding on the five releases.
Akshay Kumar’s just released Hindi movie ‘Housefull’ has broken the dry spell at the box office by earning Rs.64 crore in the opening weekend worldwide. The star says the secret of his success as a comedian is that he mimics common people around for most of his roles.
Bollywood filmmaker Sajid Khan took a vow just before the release of his comic caper ‘Housefull’ – he would not read any reviews of his film. So staunch is he about the vow that he wouldn’t allow any member of the ‘Housefull’ cast to even read out passages of the reviews.
