Charu Unspoken is a modern adaptation of Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore’s 1901 story “Noshtonir” (Broken Nest) and inspired by Oscar Winning film maestro Satyajit Ray’s 1964 classic “Charulata” (not-a-remake).
Amitabha Neil Ray is the director of the upcoming film “Charu Unspoken” based on the period novel, “Nosto Neer”, penned in 1901 by the Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, and inspired by the classic Bengali film “Charulata”, made in 1964 by the world-renowned director Satyajit Ray. Amitabha has also served as the artistic advisor of “Piyalir Password”, the first Bengali film made in the United States, directed by Raj Basu.
Amitabha Neil Ray is making a brilliant English feature film CHARU : Unspoken – which is a modern rendition of Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore’s 1901 story, and inspired by Oscar Winning film maestro Satyajit Ray’s 1964 classic film “Charulata”. Exploring further the depth of human heart within an artistic and intellectual ambiance, this modern story is a tale of three fine individuals; Charu, Anupam and Aakash.
