Bengali singer and lyricist Anupam Roy turned a year older on Thursday and to surprise him composer-singer Sidhu of Cactus fame and film producer Gautam Kundu arranged a pre-birthday party for him on Wednesday at a Kolkata studio where he was recording a song for a movie.

It was no more a Amake amar moto thakte dao (song that he sang for hit movie Autograph) moment for him, rather he seemed surprised and happy with the birthday party.

Anupam was recording a song for Rana Basu’s debut film Namte Namte at Sonic Studio.

“I was very happy when they approached me to lend my voice to the song. I hope the audience will like the song,” said birthday boy Anupam.

When asked to Sidhu what made him rope in Anupam for the song, he said: “This is my first direction and so everything is special and Anupam too is special. I like his singing style and the most important thing is he is a very good human being.”

“Moreover the elements that are required for this song like innocence, simplicity and sadness… he has got everything to satisfy the demand,” he added.
