Supreeti Ghosh started her early musical journey with inspirations from Pankaj Kumar Mullick and Raichand Boral. She started her career with Rabindra Sangeet circa 1933. And later she has sung other types of Bengali songs both for films and non-films records. She excelled in Bengail modern songs and has sung for numerous musical luminaries and composers. She playbacked in 19 movies. Her first film-song was in the Bengali movie ‘Abhoyer Biye’ in 1942. She passed away in Kolkata on April 22, 2009.
