Sunburn Festival awaits clearance from Goa govt

Panaji, Dec 23 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS) With big names expected to descend on Goa’s Candolim beach for the Sunburn festival, Goa government today said they are yet to grant permission for holding the event.

Tagged as Asia’s largest electronic music and dance festival, the non-stop three day long celebration has already offered purchasing online tickets.

The festival will kick-off at Candolim beach on December 27.

Chief Secretary Sanjay Srivastava said the government will inquire into online booking as the government is yet to issue permission.

Organizers of the event Percept Limited ensured all the permissions are in the process hoping to get a clearance from the government.

“There is long documentation that needs to be done for getting permission. We have applied for all the permissions and keeping our fingers crossed that government finds everything in order and supports us,” Shailendra Singh, Joint Managing Director, Percept, said.

The festival brings together both national and international artists from all genres of music. Bollywood stars including Priyanka Chopra, Ranbir Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Twinkle Khanna and others are expected to attend the festival.

Renowned names of the international dance music scene include Pete Tong, Gabriel and Dresden, Jerome Ismae-ae, Perfect Stranger, Laughing Buddha, Rae, and Brute Force are performing in this year’s Sunburn Festival. Sunburn is also bringing back crowd’s favourite musicians like Above & Beyond, Jalebee Cartel, Funkagenda, Pearl, John 00 Fleming, Skazi, Ma Faiza, Anil Chawla, Dale Anderson, Liquid Soul, Sanjay Dutta, Lost Stories, Nawed Khan, and Shaan.
