Sukantanagar HS moves to pre-quarters: Mahindra Youth Football Challenge

Kolkata, Feb 13 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS) Sukantanagar HS charged into the Mahindra Youth Football Challenge under-14 pre-quarter finals with a 4-0 win over Aditya Academy at the SAI Complex here on Saturday.

Sukantanagar HS displayed superiority in all aspects throughout the game. Jayanta Mondal found the net twice with Subha Paul and Bishal scoring a goal each. However, Basudebpalli HS got a walkover as Nepal Chandra School failed to turn up at the venue due to some unavoidablecircumstances.

The other league matches of the day saw close encounters with Gustia KN HS going past Gokulpur Adarsha Shikshayatan 2-1. Koushik Paul levelled the scores after Sikandar Mondol scored for Gustia HS. But towards the end, Arup Biswas netted the winner for Gustia HS.

In another tight match, Mitra Sangha and Jatia Senior HS played out a goalless draw in normal time and ultimately Mitra Sangha won 4-2 via tie-breaker.

The next 4 pre-quarter final matches of the Mahindra Youth Football Challenge will be played at the SAI complex from 10 am tomorrow.
