Stamps on Rabindranath Tagore released by Manmohan Singh

New Delhi, May 7 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS): Prime Minister Manmohan Singh released a set of two commemorative postage stamps on Saturday, commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of the Nobel Laureate Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore

[ReviewAZON asin=”1153658046″ display=”inlinepost”]The design of the stamps depicts Tagore writing at the Upasana ghar in Santiniketan and Tagore performing in his play ‘Valmiki Pratibha’ and a painting by him.

May 9 will mark the 150th birth anniversary of the world renowned poet.

A polymath, Tagore had contributed the world of literature with several literary masterpieces and even brought home the prestigious Nobel prize for his literary piece ‘Gitanjali’.
