April 21, 2010 (Calcutta Tube): South Indian filmmaker Linguswamy, is extremely happy with the success of his Tamil movie Paiyaa and says that he had expected a 100 percent success but got a 200 percent in return. The director has done super hits like Run and Anandam which belonged to different genres. The director intended to bring all those audiences that liked these movies and seems to have achieved his target, what with the movie becoming a superhit.
The movie will leave behind block busters like Sivaji, Vettaikaran and Dasavatharam in terms of collection. The movie stars Karthi Sivakumar and Tamannaah as the leads and has Bollywood actor playing the villain. The music scores are by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
According to him, Paiyya made it because the audiences were interested in seeing a decent and stylish film instead of ‘dirt and filth’.
Aftyer the grand success of the flick, Cloud Nine Movies will be seen teaming up with Lingaswamy for an upcoming Tamil project with Simbu. Cloud Nine’s other upcoming projects include Ajith’s 50th film with Gautham Menon and a multi- starrer directed by Venkat Prabhu along with Vettrimaran’s next with G.V Prakash, Vel Raj and Simbu.
