Sob Charitro Kalponik is a Bengali movie by the director Rituparno Ghosh waiting to be relesed in Kolkata end of year 2008 or early 2009. Rituparno Ghosh has chosen Bipasa Basu this time and for her, Sob Choritro Kalponic would be the first Bengali Film. We always wanted Bipasa to to atleast one Bengali Film. Prosenjit and Jishu – the two other leading Heros will be seen with the leading Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu in the movie. Bipasa will be seen mostly in sarees and not in usual mini skirts ot bikinis.
The story suits Bipasa very well. Bipasha Basu plays the role Radhika – an ordinary Bengali housewife who has spent most of her life away from West Bengal. She comes back to Kolkata when her husbend goes missing. Prosenjit plays the role of Bipasha’s hubby – Indraneel who is an engineer by profession but poet by nature. Radhika meets Sekhar in Kolkata. Jishu Sengupta plays the role of Sekhar – a photographer. When Radhika starts her journey of discovering her roots, she not only finds Kolkata but also finds her husband within his poems. More she reads the poetries written by her husband, more she becomes familer with Indraneel. She goes from one place to another in her imagination as directed by the slices of varioous poems. Finally she rediscovers herself, her city, her hubband and even the lady who inspired Indraneel to write poems.
Rituparno Ghosh is working on Mumbai Cutting and Sunglass which are supposed to release on 2009.
