Netai Biswas an artist by profession & associated with the creative department of Grey Worldwide Kolkata, recently launched his first new book called ‘Sketch Book’ in the city.  This is the first book from his kitty that he has for offer to the people who love art & Kolkata through the sketches.

The ‘Sketch Book’ highlights the small picturesque nuances of the City of Joy’ which Netai has wonderfully presented in his book through black and white sketches.

This understanding developed a keen sense of observation in me which I later translated into black & white sketches.”

Commenting on Kolkata captured in a ‘black-n-white’ avatar, eminent author Sunil Gangopadhay said, “It feels very good to see the sketches by Netai. Even before, many artists had presented Kolkata through their eyes but nothing can be compared with the work put up by Netai.

“His sketches over the time have travelled through the villages and even the broken pictures of the daily lives of the normal people looks appealing in his work. I hope everybody likes his work the way I liked it.”

Drawing inspiration from the nature and trying to find solace in his canvas through his sketches, Netai tried to fathom the changes in his surroundings and translate them into works of art.

Renowned painter Chitta Sarkar too has appreciated artist Netai’s work.

He said, “Netai’s work is inspired by the beauty in our environment. His sketches have a different charm. They are ordinary but yet have a huge sense of appeal. I appreciate the fact that he finally took the effort to assort all his work and offer it to us in the form of a book. Else we all would have been deprived of the beautiful journey through his sketches.”

The artist has sketched the city in black and white drawing the inspiration mainly from Mother Nature.
