SHONO MON BOLI TOMAY-Rahul Priyanka Love Story again
February 19 (Calcutta Tube): Shono Mon Boli Tomay is a 2010 Bengali Movie directed by Pradip Saha starring love birds Rahul and Priyanka (of Chirodini Tumi Je Amar Fame). Rahul Priyanka coupled in Bhalobasa Jinda just few months back and could not reproduce the magic of their screen presence.
Filmmakers in Bengal are trying to capitalize on the hit pair of Chirodini Tumi Je Amaar, namely Rahul and Priyanka and their real-life live-together story they wear on their lapels. The results so far have been disastrous however, if Reshmi Mitra’s Bhalobasha Zindabad is an example of the shape of things to come. The magic chemistry between Rahul and Priyanka that set the screen on fire last year in Chirodini Tumi Je Amaar was missing completely in Bhalobasha Zindabad. Debrup Sen is another young man who has opened his own production house, Studio 20 to make his first film Shono Mon Boli Tomay starring the lovey-dovey pair Rahul-Priyanka. The film is directed by Pradip Saha. Sen says, “This film is a romantic comedy with wonderful songs and music. I wish to make at least two films a year and this is a beginning in that direction. The songs, I ensure you, will turn into chart-busters.”
So what is this film with the intriguing title all about? The hero of this film (Rahul) suffers from ‘commitment phobia’ which means he has this habit of falling in and out of relationships at the drop of a hat. Then, he meets a married man and begins to feel that marriage is a scary business too. Destiny takes over and puts paid to his confusion about relationships and about marriage. He faces a situation that he can stick on to his profession only if he ties the knot within the next 36 hours. A speedy bride-hunt begins to land the right girl within the 36-hour deadline. The narrative takes a hilarious turn as his search becomes a journey of adventure and fun.
The music has been scored by Debjit and noted playback singers like Shaan, Amit Kumar, Alka Yagnik and Keka Ghoshal have lent their voices to the song numbers. Sharing screen space with Rahul and Priyanka are Poran Bandopadhyay, Tulika Basu, Rajatava Dutta and that classic comic actor Kanchan.
The tentative release date of Shono Mon Boli Tomay has been fixed for March 5.
