Kolkata, Dec 26, 2010, Kolkata (Calcutta Tube/IBNS) Yuletide ushered in happiness for the residents of a old day home as Shopper Stop, a retail sector and pioneering departmental store chain, organised a special pre-Christmas celebration for the senior citizens of St Joseph’s Old Age Home here on Thursday.
The event treated the grandpas and grannies with a a day full of joy and happiness.
The day unfolded a world of happiness for the aged who exchanged greetings and goodies among each other.
Speaking on the occasion, Shoppers Stop spokesperson, Naveen Misra said, “christmas is for all and if we can share the happiness with others, it grows more. So we all are here to double our joy of Christmas by celebrating along with them. I really appreciate their warm welcome and wishes them from the core of my heart, a very Merry Christmas”.
Sister Cecili, St. Joseph’s Old Age Home said, “We all are God’s children. He loves us, no matter where ever we are. And always stays beside us”.
“I was a veteran of the army and have a daughter, who is married. But as my wife passed, my child took me with her to live. But she lived in a joint family and you know, a daughter’s house turns different when she gets married. So I couldn’t settle their and returned, now I am here and it’s a place of zen and peace to me,” a resident of the old day home said.
