According to sources, the rights to Bodyguard had been bought by Boney Kapoor who wanted Prabhudeva to direct the Hindi remake of the film, after they were successful with Wanted. However, Salman asked him to give the rights to Atul. Boney had no qualms giving up the rights to the film because he likes Salman a lot.

Though he would have liked to make the Hindi version of Bodyguard, Boney admits that he isn’t upset. He is fine with Atul making the film and had no problems giving the rights away because he considers Salman as family.

Atul wants to decide on the heroine soon and set everything ready for the film by the end of the next week.
