Kolkata, December 5, 2010 (Calcutta Tube/IBNS) Saint Gobain, a leading construction solutions provider, has announced the regional winners of ‘Transparence’- India’s nation level architecture and design contest for students.
This year, the first regional round was held in Kolkata, where, over 100 students participated.
The winners from the Eastern Regional finals are IIT Kharagpur ( Ravikant & Ravichandran) and Bengal Engineering College (Somraj, Ankan Prasad and Kritika Sha ) will participate in the National finals scheduled to be held on the 20 January 2011 at Hubli, during the Annual NASA (National Association of Students of Architecture) Convention.
The theme for ‘Transparence 2010’ was to design an “International Convention Centre”.
R.Subramanian, Director Sales and Marketing, Saint-Gobain Glass India, said: “Transparence gives an opportunity for the students of architecture- the architects of tomorrow, to showcase their design prowess. This year, there has been an overwhelming response from colleges across India and we are sure we will be seeing some fresh and innovative designs.
The regional round at Kolkata received an overwhelming response from the students, witnessing registrations from leading institutes in the city, including, IIT Kharagour, Birla institute of technology, Ranchi, NIT Patna, Jadavpur university, Kolkatta & Pillo Modi College of architecture , Cuttack, to name a few.
