May 10 (Calcutta Tube) Bengali Film News: Saheb Bhattacharya, who began his career as an anchor at a reality show, is now grooming for a career on the big screen. After making his debut in Aparna Sen’s under-production film Iti Mrinalini, Shaheb has been penciled in by Ray to portray Topshe, Feluda’s nephew-turned-assistant in Sandip Ray’s new Feluda film Gorosthane Shabdhaan. Topshe has had a long innings, moving from actor to actor who stepped into the youngster’s shoes only to step out when they were too old to play the character or had drifted away to other fields. The innings began with Siddharha Chatterjee when Ray began the detective series with Sonar Kella. Saswata Chattopadhyay stepped in when Sandip Ray began his teleseries on Feluda stories. Then came Parambrato Chatterjee for subsequent Feluda films such as Tintorettor Jishu. But Parambrato is now a full-fledged hero and will not fit into the Topshe mode any more. So, Ray began hunting around for a newer and younger Topshe. Shaheb heard of this and telephoned Ray. Ray okayed him and now, fans of Feluda films will witness the brand new Shaheb, handsome, strapping and young, as Topshe with Sabyasachi Chakraborty playing Feluda.
