There were some successful filming of Sirshendu Mukhopadhyay story such as “Patal Ghar”. But, unfortunately, the Sadhu Babar Lathi – latest film released in Kolkata could not meet the standard. Nabin Saha gets a stick of a old Sashubaba (saint) from his uncle. Nabin Saha started his journey with the stick. He meets Nemai Roy , a local creek, on the way. They become friends. Nemail comes to know that Nabin Saha was about to cross the haunted “Ghurbuner Math” with 30,000 rupees. As per his instincts, Nemai Roy decides to rob Nabin Saha. Nabin ties up with some local dacoit Sota Gunda and misleads Nabin Saha towards the stronghold of Sota Gunda. Meanwhile Jagai and Madhai, friends of Nabin Saha, also start their journey towards “Ghurbuner Math” where they know about a hidden treasure. After crossing the haunted field, they reach Haripurer Kella and find Nabin fighting with the terrible dacoits with the stick he got from Sadhubaba. Nabin with his friends win the battle. However, the clever Sota Gunda send Nemai again to steal the stick of Sadhubaba from Nabin Saha. In search of the stick, Nemai comes to the hometown of Nabin Saha and get into traps of another teo hulligans Hiru and Panu – both local hooligans who had suffered from the stick. After a long set of incidents, Nemai Roy finally manages to steal the stick. But, to his frustration, he finds that the stick does not exhibit its wonders in his hand. At the end, Nabin Saha recovered the stick and bury that into the grave of the Sadubaba to whom the stick used to belong to.
