Rs.4 lakh looted from Jharkhand bank

Ranchi, May 21 (Calcutta Tube) Unidentified dacoits looted Rs.4 lakh at gun point from a bank in Jharkhand’s Giridih district Friday, police said.

Seven criminals barged into the Buddudih branch of the Gramin Bank in Giridih district, about 180 km from Ranchi.

They looted Rs.4 lakh at gun point from the bank’s money-chest and escaped.

Police have launched a hunt to arrest the dacoits.

More than 65 banks have been looted in the last nine years in Jharkhand, according to official figures.
