Kolkata, Mar 9 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS): Actor-RJ Mir and his rock band ‘Bandage’ will now be crooning for Rana Basu’s directorial debut ‘Namte Namte’.
Addressing a press conference in Kolkata on Thursday, Mir said: “People have loved us over the years and showcased their appreciation by being present in our shows. We hope to live up to their expectation.”
“Though I have sung for ‘Natobor Not Out’ earlier but for team Bandage, this is the opening of a new innings,” added Mir.
Apart from Basu, the film also marks the debut of Bangla band Cactus’ front man Sidhu as a music director.
“To me, mental connection is very important and for my first movie too I have joined hands with those artists with whom my vibes match,” said Sidhu.
When asked how tough was it to write lyrics for a film, he said: “In band songs it all depends on individual imagination and thinking so it’s easier. But in case of a film one have to write songs according to the situation.”
The film has a total of five songs penned by Srijato, Mir and Sidhu.
The movie is special for the Cactus fans too as the film will feature a score “Pata Oltai” by the band.
Rupankar and Anupam Roy are the other singers who have sung for the film.
“I am singing a lullaby penned by Srijato. It is a beautiful, soothing number,” Rupankar said.
“Sidhu has scored nice melody to keep in sync with the storyline. People love Sidhu as a singer and I hope he will be able to make his presence felt as a music composer too in this movie,” said Rupankar about working with Sidhu.
Shreya Ghoshal is likely to lend her voice for a song in the film.
