Kolkata, January 1, 2011 (Calcutta Tube/IBNS): Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Company (Chola MS), a joint venture between Murugappa Group and Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance of Japan, launched its new brand identity here on Wednesday.
“The new Chola MS brand stands for Trust and Transparency that has been part of our ethos. Going forward, we shall be accelerating our journey towards customer centricity enabled by Technology that offers convenience to our customers,” SS Gopalarathnam, Managing Director, Chola MS said at the event.
The company also announced that that it offers health insurance cover to over 1.4 million families through Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY) in states like West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand.
Health insurance cover of up to Rs. 30,000 is offered to the pre-identified below poverty families, by this insurance plan.
“We are happy to be a part of this scheme,” Gopalarathnam said.
Chola MS aims at achieving a GWP of Rs. 950 crores in 2010-2011.
The company currently has 14 branches and 368 agents in East Zone and in the national level, it has 113 branches and 7500 agents.
The company aims to expand and open 6-8 new branches in East Zone in the coming year, besides expanding their number of national branches to a figure of around 138.
Tsuyoshi Yamane, the whole time Director of the company, was also present at the event on Wednesday afternoon.
