Mumbai, Nov 11 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS): Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor starrer Hindi movie ‘Rockstar’ hit the silver screen on Friday.
Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the film showcases Ranabir Kapoor as a guitar-jamming rockstar making his fans dance to his tunes.
It is probably the transformation of Ranbir from a lover boy to a rockstar that would be one of the key factors behind pulling his fans to the theatres.
Moreover, controversy has already touched the film as the head-banging chartbuster ‘Sadda Haq, Aithe Rakh’ has attracted the red-eyes of the Central Board of Film Certification.
The song was shot at the Norbulingka monastery in McLeod Ganj where waving of Free Tibet flag in the backdrop was shown in the song.
The song has triggered a dispute between Central Board of Film Certification and director of the movie Imtiaz Ali.
The Board has ordered Ali to blur the flag and free Tibet slogan before the film hit the silver screen this Friday, but the director has refused to do it.
The previous two films of Imtiaz Ali, “Jab We Met ‘ and ‘Love Aaj Kal‘ made impressive business at the box oiffice. It is perhaps the manner in which Ali treats an ordinary love story in an extraordinary fashion that adds extra spice to his movies.
Apart from the new age B-town heart throb Ranbir Kapoor, ‘Rockstar’ features Kingfisher Calender girl Nargis Fakhri.
Veteran actor Shammi Kapoor, who passed away in August, also played an important role in the film.
