Calcutta Tube (May 29): Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha are prepping up for the post-production of their new Bengali feature film Prem By Chance starring Koel Mullick and Abir Chatterjee. They had worked with Koel many years ago in Shudhu Tumi and they expect to repeat the magic in this film though the storyline seems to be old hat with Annapurna (Koel Mullick), the spoilt daughter of an affluent feudal family meeting the colony boy Rajeeb (Abir Chatterjee) brought up by his maternal uncle and aunt and the varied colours of sparks flying between them. Rajeeb is famous for getting into para fights. One such fight sees him get into handcuffs with the police which put the police on his chase. He flees to escape, only to meet Annapurna. “We are trying to provide wholesome entertainment for the entire family with the extended family situation, lots of characters spanning different age groups to target a mass audience across class and age barriers,” informs Sudeshna. There is an attraction in the shape of a bike race and a tractor race in the film. There is a very strong supporting cast comprised of Manoj Mitra, Shoma De, Biswajit Chakraborty, Dipankar De, Dwijen Bandopadhyay, Tanima Sen, Joyjeet, Manasi Sinha, Arijit Dutta, and Locket Chatterjee in a very important role. Singer Rupankar is making his debut as music director of the film. Manoj Misra is DOP, Tanmoy Chakraborty is the art director and Sujoy Dutta Roy is editing the film. It is being produced by M.K. Media Private Limited.
