Mumbai, 3rd October 2008: Pond’s, a brand synonymous with skincare the world over launched in a spectacular event for the first time ever it’s very own ‘The Beauty Council ….. Expertise with experience.
The Ponds Beauty Council represents a set of empowered women who are experts in their respective fields that span beauty, grooming, films, fashion, media, cosmetology and who have now come together to support Ponds in it’s effort to usher in a new era of change for Indian women all across the country.
Each of these faces has a story to tell, one of beauty and achievement, of experience and expertise and each one of them embodies the essence of Ponds, a brand that holds true to its reputation of the global face care expert.
The Pond’s Beauty Council, which will be collaborating on global and local levels, is set up to concentrate on internal and external expertise in the field of beauty and skin care as well as science – aiming to secure excellent future innovations and lending the brand a face to the world.

On a global level, the Brand feels privileged to introduce Dr Michael Cheney, Unilever’s Skin Care Director, from the Global Technical Centre in Trumbull, USA and Esperanza Gaspar, from the Pond’s Beauty Centre in Madrid, Spain; among the first to enter the Pond’s Beauty Council.
Our India experts include Bollywood diva Mahima Chaudhury, the beautiful ex Miss India and successful model Waluscha Robinson, People magazine’s articulate Karishma Upadhyay, quintessential jewellery designer and fashion expert Queenie Dhody, grooming expert Rukshana Eisa, well-known cosmetologist Dr. Rashmi Shetty, India’s top fashion designer Rina Dhaka and the elegant INX Media CEO Mrs. Indrani Mukherjea.
The ambience was mesmerizing with a gripping dance performance by Sandip Soprakar’s troupe, while each of the beauty council members were introduced. Rakshanda Khan who dazzled as host kept the guest thoroughly entertained.

They will act as role models and represent the hopes and aspirations of women across the country.
