Parle Saraswati Vandana grand finale attended by schools across West Bengal

Kolkata, Mar 13 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS): The grand finale of the tenth Parle Saraswati Vandana was held on Saturday, attended by students and teachers from various schools across West Bengal.

Every year, confectionary producing brand Parle organises ‘Saraswati Vandana’ in West Bengal during the festival of Saraswati Puja, inviting schools from all across the state to participate.

Saraswati Vandana aims to foster the idea of team work, creativity and ownership qualities among young students.

The award ceremony witnessed popular stars like singers Jojo and national award winning actress Ananya Chaterjee among others performing to keep the audience entertained.

The first prize worth Rs 25,000 was given to Jagabandhu Institution, Kolkata.

The second prize worth Rs 15,000 were given to Krishnagar A.V.High School and Hoogly Jyotish Chandra Vidyapith (H.S).

The third prize worth Rs 10,000 were received by Bankim Ghosh Memorial Girls H.S. School, KOlkata; Gorabazar Silpa Mandir Girls H.S. School, Berhampore;
Ichapur Girls High School, Howrah; Bardhaman Sri Ramakrishna Saradapith Uchcho Vidyalaya and Ghogomali High School, Siliguri.

Besides consolation prize worth Rs. 3000 were given to 25 schools and 27 other schools received special gifts.

The inaugural ceremony was initiated by lighting the candle by actress Chaiti Goswami.

The actress said, ” This whole event brought back my childhood memories and I wish I could wear the school uniform again.”
