Sept 12, 2011 (Calcutta Tube): Paglu, the blockbuster Bengali movie of 2011 starring Dev, Koel in lead roles, has arrived in its Video CD/DVD avatar at all leading music stores/outlets. The VCD/DVD has been released on V video. A great release before Durga Puja.
Paglu, released in May 2011 in all major theatres across the state, is one of the highest grosser movies and Shree Venkatesh Films is as hopeful about its VCD launch as it was during the film’s theatrical release.
The VCD is priced at Rs.99/- and DVD at Rs 149/- would be available at all leading stores. Besides making quality films reach a wider mass of people, the basic idea behind the launch is very obvious. Shree Venkatesh Films looks forward to offer Bengali film enthusiasts a chance to preserve and cherish their experience of watching a class movie for good and not just limit it to the theatres. This attempt on the part of this eminent production & distribution house, apart from raising the bar altogether for the latter, has no doubt received appreciation from film buffs to people attached to the tinsel town.
Paglu is the tale of an NRI girl who comes to Kolkata to pursue music and then falls for a Kolkata guy called Dev played by Dev. “It’s an action love story stylishly packaged. I can vouch for a fact that Tollywood is yet to feast its eyes on such execution of glamour and action” quipped Rajib, director of Paglu.
