Padma Shri to Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai The King and the Khiladi Mr. Akshay Kumar and the Miss World plus Mrs Bacchan Aishwarya Rai received Padma Shri Award today – Tuesday 31st of March 2009. Padma Shri is the highest civilian honour in India that they received from the President of India- Smt. Pratibha Patil. Both Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has popularized Indian cinema across the globe and has given much to Indian entertainment industry. The other Bollywood recipient of the prestigious Padma Shree is Helen – the dance queen of yesteryear. While Akki looked dapper in a formal black suit, Ash was her dazzling best in a rose coloured saree. Abhishek Bacchan also attended the important event.
