Kolkata, Nov 21,2010 (Calcutta Tube/IBNS): A four member team named ‘Nilkantha Abhijatri Sangha’ from West Bengal was felicitated on Friday for successfully completing their recent expedition to Mount Debachen at Himachal Pradesh.

An adventure sport is that genre where very few dare to step in. I salute all the members for their zeal and spirit.”
The four member team was headed by Amit Bhattacharya and they left for the expedition on Aug. 18 from Kolkata.
The flag was handed over to the expedition team by Ritwik Das.
The team reached Tosh village after 4 days of rigorous trekking and finally touched SORO, the Base Camp.
On Aug 31 the team reached at Camp II at an altitude of 5500 Mtrs which was above Sara Umga Pass, connecting Spiti Valley and Tosh Valley.
On Sept 1, two members of the team, Amit Bhattacharya and R N Mondal Occupied Camp -III (Summit Camp).
After long and tiresome journey through a new and virgin route they ultimately reached the peak quite successfully.
The members safely returned to Tosh Village on Sept 5 and reached Kolkata on Sept 10.
The Panihati based ‘Nilkantha Abhijatri Sangha’ team comprised of Amit Bhattacharya (leader), Santanu Chatterjee (manager), Rabindra Nath Mondal (Qr. Master) and Vaskar Biswas (Member).
The Guides were Roshan Laal and Puran Chand and Nim bahadur.
