Kolkata, Sept 18 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS): The festive spirit of Durga puja is in the air, and to usher in that magical time of the year, “Doshokarma Bhandar”, a musical album was launched at Saturday Club on Thursday.
“Doshokarma Bhandar” as the name suggests conjures up the images of pujas as it is a title associated with the essential materials related to pujas such as aroma of sandalwood, the fragrance of incense and the scent of camphor.
Well known Tollywood personalities were present at the music launch. Moon Moon Sen, Srijit Mukherjee, Raghab Chatterjee were some of them.
“Doshokarma Bhandar” is the maiden music album of the new Bengali Music Band-ON A HIGH.
Satrajit Sen, the producer who himself has sung two songs in the album, said “it is a concept album, a mixture of all genre and hence called Doshokarma Bhandar.”
“It is a collectors’ item,” said singer Raghav Chatterjee who has two songs in the album.
While Satrajit Sen has produced the album, the copyright is held by Purple Leaf Entertainment.
All the members of the band from the lead guitarist Tamal Chakraborty to singers Ayan and Ashmita and other musicians and lyricists associated with the ON A HIGH were present.
Ayan and Ashmita sang some numbers followed by Raghab who sang both his songs from the album.
A cheque of Rs 21,000 was donated by the band to Shampa Sengupta, Director of Sruti Disability Rights Centre. The entire proceeds from the sale of the album will be donated to Sruti Disability Rights Centre.
