One would be surprised to find the posters claiming reunion of Jeet Koel after 3 years when you have watched them onscreen a month ago. But, in reality, this movie started shooting before Saat Pake Bandha,and should have released first. Jeet-Jishu-Koel Trio, Jeet Ganguly in music, Sujit Guha (Mon Maane Na) as director –this movie boasts of deadly combination. Initially slated for July release, it is releasing on 7th August.The next biggie in line after PJJR,which is rewriting box-office records all over Bengal.

You can rope in the industry’s most successful onscreen pair, a dependable supporting actor, and may have a very ambitious project at hand , but the result need not be fruitful. ”Neel Akasher Chandni”is the glowing evidence to that.
Storyline:When Neel (Jisshu) comes back home from U.S. with a MBA degree, he meets Chandni (Koel) at the airport and love blossoms. But,-twist1-Chandni loves Akash (Jeet) the best buddy of Neel.Chandni’s father wants her to marry Neel, but Chandni was reluctant. Neel learns about Chandni and Akash’s relationship, and decides to step aside. But,-twist2-Neel’s dad also gets to know about this and kills Akash.
Don’t be surprised as here comes twist 3, Akash comes back and claims to be Anthony Gomes. But soon enough it is known Akash is actually Akash and Anthony Gomes was a friend of Akash who was killed by goons ,on behalf of wrong judgment.Waiting for reunion of Jeet and Koel, forget it and instead prepare yourself for a tragedy.
If your head is not spinning reading this storyline (guess who the writer is, the producer!, Pijush Saha), it will when you sit through the running time of this movie. Surely the script is not a direct lift but, it is nothing but a mix of Kal Ho Naa Ho and Srk’s Don (in fact, we have Jeet imitating Srk’s Don in one sequence). Jeet and Koel always make a good onscreen pair, but , sadly the story does not give the couple the scope to bring out the best.
Jisshu should start looking beyond playing second fiddle. The movie is quite average with respect to cinematography (K.V.Ramanna) and editing, usual areas of strength of recent bengali movies. This is director Sujit Guha’s next after Mon Maane Naa, and just like his previous movie, his presentation is abrupt. Jeet Ganguly ‘s music falls below expectations. In spite of all this, you still may like this one if you are a die-hard Jeet-Koel fan, but if you are looking for a film that can give your brain some peace, this is a bad choice.
