Kolkata, December 5, 2010 (Calcutta Tube/IBNS) Lt General Naresh kumar, the head of the Armed forces Medical Services, inaugurated a state-of-the-art Cardiac Cath Lab at the Eastern Command Hospital in Alipore recently.
During his interaction with the officers and guests after the inauguration, Kumar said: “This cardiac lab is a necessity provided in time. With this laboratory in place the diagnosis and treatment will be very fast. We can expect a patient to walk in the lab with cardiac ailment and walk out fit within no time.”
The Cath Lab uses ‘digital balance imaging equipment’, which would diagnose the malfunctioning of a patient’s cardio vascular system.
Having found out the problem area, a bare minimum invasion would be used to cure the patient and the whole treatment is pain free.
The lab has been setup with an investment of Rs. 6 cores.
