Kolkata, Aug 27 (Calcutta Tube/IBNS): With a view to boost the declining market for men’s vests, hosiery and innerwear brand Dollar Industries Limited unveiled its new range of Men’s ‘designer undershirt’ – “MyMe” here on Wednesday.
“Eminent designers used 100 percent American Pima Cotton for its fabrication. So, it can be called the first designer innerwear of India,” said a company spokesperson.
“The cotton is of finest quality, as light as feather and anti-bacterial treatment is done for sweat absorption and odour. Apart from that, it has a unique heat absorbing capacity,” said the official.
Vinod Gupta, the Managing Director of Dollar Industries Limited said, “Our company owns 15 percent of the branded hosiery market and the annual turnover in the present fiscal year is estimated to be Rs 290 crores.”
He also said that Dollar’s annual turnover is estimated to touch Rs 350 crores in the next fiscal year.
“Dollar Industries is paying 22-25 per cent duty to the American government for importing cotton to India. So, it should have to be of superior quality,” said Gupta.
When asked about the company’s marketing, retail and export policies, he said, “The company recently joined hands with retail giants Bharti Wal-Mart and Reliance. Abroad, Dollar innerwear is the largest selling brand in the United Arab Emirates and the Middle East.”
“At present, nearly 7 percent of the product is exported and we are utilizing channels to explore Europe, South America, south East Asia, Sri Lanka and Mayanmar in the near future,” asserted Gupta.
