Mayabazar 2009 Bengali Film by Joydeep Ghosh

Mayabazar is a 2009 Bengali film directed by debutant Joydeep Ghosh. Maya Bazar is produced by NFDC and mostly shot in Calcutta, Siliguri and Burdwan. Mayabazar was also screen in the International Film Festival of Kerala.

Mayabazar is a 2009 Bengali film directed by debutant Joydeep Ghosh. Maya Bazar is produced by NFDC and mostly shot in Calcutta, Siliguri and Burdwan. Mayabazar was also screen in the International Film Festival of Kerala. Joydeep Ghosh has made documentaries and TV serials before and is excited about the upcoming theatrical release of the film in Kolkata.

Mayabazar consists of 3 stories inside one.
1. Smrity – a widow with memories of husband (inspired from DEHANTAR by Sharadindu Bhattacharya). Roopa Ganguly plays the widow and Badsha Moitra plays her husband.
2. Satwa – the second story is again inspired from Sharadindu Bhattacharya’s SHUNNO TOBU SHUNNO NOI. Payel and newcomer Dpnanjan Bhattacharya are playing the lead characters.
3. Bhabishyat – the third part is inspired from Mahesher Mahajatra, a satire by Rajsekhar Basu. Dhritiman Chatterji and Pradip Mukherjee are playing the lead charecters here.
