Lok Sabha to amend question hour rules

New Delhi, Feb 19 (Calcutta Tube) The Lok Sabha Rules Committee has decided to amend rules on question hour to ensure it proceeds without interruption even if the member who asked the question is absent.

The decision was taken Thursday at the first meeting of the committee, presided over by Speaker Meira Kumar, sources said Friday. Deputy Speaker Karia Munda and seven members of the committee were also present at the meeting – the first since the 15th Lok Sabha was constituted last year.

According to the new rules, all listed questions must be taken even if the MP who asked the question is not present in the house.
