Locket Chatterjee, Agnimitra Paul at Lakme, Sananda women club launch

Sananda Women's Club launchKolkata, April 6 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS): Noted fashion designer Agnimitra Paul and Tollywood actress Locket Chatterjee on Wednesday announced the launch of ‘Sananda Club’, which aims to give women a platform to engage in several activities throughout the year.
The unique club, touted to be the largest women’s Club in Eastern India, was announced as a joint initiative between Bengali women’s magazine Sananda and cosmetics brand Lakme.
With the target audience from age group 25 to 45 years, Sananda Club will give likeminded women a dais to express themselves through activities that they are interested in.
Fashion Designer Agnimitra Paul said, “This is an era of packaging and marketing. It’s all about presenting yourself well. The club can provide grooming sessions so that everyone can learn to be presentable.”
She said that the members of the club can mutually help each other in many ways.
“If a member of the club is a housewife and can cook very well then she can start a home delivery services for members who are working and finds it difficult to manage lunch or dinner at their work places,” she said.
Paul added that every member will get the opportunity to show their creativity and even earn in this manner.
Editor of Sananda, Madhumita Chattopadhyay said, “This idea is not new. Sananda’s only mission from the very beginning is to empower women-socially, intellectually and economically, to make her a leader at home as well as in the outer world.”
“Now the club will do the same work. It will try to boost up the confidence of the women, instilling in them the idea that they can do anything they feel like and in the process make them independent and self-reliant,” she added.
Marketing professional-Lakme Shivani Desai said, “Both Lakme and Sananda have portrayed women from the beginning. This time it gives me immense pleasure as both of these are working together for the same cause-empowering women.”
She further said that the club will always hold the hands of its members during tough times and will guide them along.
Actress Locket Chatterjee said, “When I started my career I was a housewife. I never thought that I could come this far. The journey was tough and I was alone. But from now onwards the scenario will change.”
“Women no longer will face the harsh conditions I had to face anymore. They will get Sananda Club beside them to help them and guide them in order to achieve their goals,” she said.
