Le Chhakka 2010 DEV-Payel Bengali Movie First Look
Bengali filmmaker Raj Chakraborty is busy making his latest venture with DEV and PAYEL. The movie “Le Chhakka” is based on his Zee Bangla Tele-Film Nagar Basanta. Dev and Payel has worked in “I Love You” directed by Ravi Kinagi. Le Chakka is produced by Srijan and venture into the sweet clashes between the “Ghoti” and “Bangal”. Dev is playing the role of city guy from South Calcutta who falls in love with Payel from North Calcutta. The script of the movie is written by Padmanava Dasgupta.
The Film also has a “cricket” part in it. Dev is the captain of a cricket team and incidentally Payel’s brother is the captain of the opposition team.

I don’t know how much original this film is but still I have a doubt after seeing the trailers.

Well made Bengali films(whether they are commercial,parallel or middle-of-the-road movies)should try to seek a broader market in order to sustain themselves.Bengali movies made in Tollygunje should increasingly target posh Bengali audiences not only in Bengal but beyond it.Bangla movies can release all over India(esp. in the bengali dominated pockets/states) and all over the world for the NRI Bengalees,Probashi Bengalees and Bangladeshis in order to be commercially more viable.Let’s tap those markets,target today’s youth and let Bangla films be all over.Long live Tollygunje film industry.
