Kolkata, Feb 14 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS): The food lovers of Kolkata savored mouth-watering delicacies at the Bar B Q festival organised at a city hotel recently.
Rajib Roy Choudhury, General Manager, The Sonnet Kolkata, said : “The thought of a Bar B Q promotion came to his mind as Bar B Q is just not eating out another dish. It’s smoke, flavor, taste and the visual appeal is nothing but harmony conjugating to create an absolute masterpiece.”
The Corporate Chef of the hotel Sonnet Niladri Chakraborty shared that the concept of Bar B Q is not new in India as Indians have a long tradition and practice of following this particular food tradition.
“Even India has a tradition of Bar B as as well may be the process is dissimilar to what the Europeans or the Americans have but the concept of Spit roasting was there since the Mughal Era,” Chakraborty said.
He said: “The acceptance of Bar B Q is universal as it is not just food; it is an event that gathers people around fire to watch, smell and eat. Like the fires of prehistory which were the place to eat, drink and tell stories.”
Jerked chicken, Slow roasted pork and steaks on the grill along with a host of VEGAN BBQ’S like Paneer Tikka Kebab and Char grilled Cheese & Spinach Timbale were some of the dishes served in the festival.
