Kolkata resturant celebrates Hilsa Festival

Kolkata, Aug 22 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS) Lip smacking array of hilsa dishes are on the offing at the Maharaja Restaurant in Kolkata.

A delightful red alert for all the foodies and fish lovers in the city as variety of hilsa preparations will be available at the “Hilsa Festival” with unlimited supply of beer to wash it all down.

Tollywood actress Locket Chatterjee, who was present at the promotional event, said, “I love ilish (hilsa) and I am quite excited about checking out the dishes.”

City based actress Koneenica Banerjee remarked, “Anybody who doesn’t like ilish, doesn’t like fish. I love ilish and so I have come here (Maharaja Restaurant) to enjoy the festival.”

Some of the delicacies include “laupata bhapa ilish”, “dhanepata bhapa ilish”, “shorshe ilish, “doi ilish” and “tetulpata ilish tok”.

The “quintessentially Bengali cuisine” is also offering a special “Hilsa Biriyani” along with all the other items as a part of the lunch buffet at a cost of Rs. 600 plus taxes per person, from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm till 22nd of August.
