Kolkata now a stop for GoAir airlines

Kolkata, Sept 30 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS) GoAir, India’s low-fare domestic airline, with the youngest fleet, has added Kolkata to its network.

GoAir will start its operations in Kolkata from 8th October with daily flights to Delhi and Port Blair.

In addition, GoAir will be starting operations in Port Blair and Ranchi.

The launch of 3 new destinations comes as part of GoAir’s growth strategy and strengthens its existing network by flying to 21 destinations with 588 weekly flights.

GoAir recently announced the purchase of 72 next generation A320 NEO aircraft.

On this occasion, a GoAir spokesperson said, “GoAir will have the first arrival of the day into Kolkata, from Delhi. It will also increase our presence in Poschim Bongo, since we already fly to Bagdogra.

“Apart from Delhi, GoAir will also connect Kolkata to Port Blair, which will result in affordable prices for Business and Leisure travelers. The flight to Delhi also provides onward connectivity to Chandigarh and Lucknow. We are optimistic about these sectors and expect to increase our presence in Kolkata in future.”

The airline said it prides itself on its reliability with the least cancellations and a consistently high on time performance record of 90% +, currently the highest in the Industry (as per DGCA statistics Apr-Aug 2011).

Tickets booked over 45 days in advance are available at discounted rates, which compare favorably with 2AC train fares.

GoAir also offers discounts for Defence and paramilitary /police personnel and students.
