Kolkata gets its first Iranian themed resturant

Kolkata, Sept 4 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS): With Durga Puja just a few weeks away, Kolkata got to see a  the launch of the first Iranian themed restaurant, Isfahan, by Linus Food World at Gariahat, one of Kolkata’s popular shopping destinations, on Thursday.

The restaurant has been named after the third largest city of Iran, famous for Islamic architecture, confluence of multiple cultures and cuisines.

Claimed as one of the best hang out zone in the city, the 3-storied building incorporates a food court named Sit-n-Eat, two banquet halls and a fine Iranian themed dining restaurant backed by D4Q (Dial for Quisine), the exclusive home delivery service.

The décor of the spacious restaurant is contemporary with simple, soft, uncluttered look and wooden Jaafri work. It has a comfortable seating capacity for 54 people.

Celebrated personalities like Koneenica Banerjee, Aparajita Das Ghosh and football sensation Alvito D’Cunha glammed up the inauguration ceremony.

According to Koneenica, Bengalis are a good foodie and as it’s Puja time people will enjoy something different apart from Bengali food.

Aparajita contradicted a bit saying that an Iranian restaurant may not be a pleasure for Kolkatans but they will enjoy the different taste during the Puja.

At Isfahan one can experience a confluence of tastes from different civilizations like Iranian, Indian and Persian.

The variety of dishes one can enjoy here are Raan E Isfahan, Kashmiri Nalli Gosht, Dastaan-e-Khumb and Aloo Nazaakat. One also can enjoy mocktail at the bar while dining.

This is the very place where one can capture the true essence of Iran right from starter to main course.
