Kolkata April 2o, 2011 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS): Fashion Desinger Sanchita Julka who was recently in town to showcase her designs at the Kolkata Couture Lifestyle Fashion Week (KCLFW) shares her experience.
Tell something about your experience of showcasing your designs in Kolkata?
The experience of showcasing in Kolkata is great. It is always good to be back in Kolkata. But frankly, this time the incident was not so smooth due to some mismanagement by the authorities. Else the programme was good.
What response did you get so far with regards to the collection you showcased this time?
It is too early to comment on that, but the immediate response was quite great. The response at the venue was nice. Now it is time to wait and see.
According to you what was the USP of your collection this time?
I feel it was the diffusion attire line which was showcased in my collection. Traditional Indian, though the cut was modern age line.
How do you rate Kolkata as a fashion hub?
Kolkata have a good market and it is growing.
What according to you the term ‘fashion’ stands for?
Fashion is a just word, when you put style into use that is fashion. Every man has his own style and the way he carries it that is important.
