Kolkata, Apr 16 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS): Kolkata witnessed creations of four fashion designers on Friday night as models sizzled the ramp on the second day of the Kolkata Couture Lifestyle Fashion Week (KCLFW) .
Anshul Talwar, Rimple Mayyur, Babita Malkani and celebrity designer James Ferreira set the fashion moods of the city on Friday as models showcased their creations.
Speaking about her designs and creations titled ‘Kaleidoscope’, Talwar said: “People think Kaleidoscope is more about colours but in my thinking it is more about line, construction and texture.”
On the other hand, designer Babita Malkani creations centered on Bengali designs with lots of Bengali alphabets printed over the garments.
Delhi-based designer Mayyur grasped the attention of the audience with his collections titled “Journey”, where he displayed the ‘journey of woman’.
“The name of the show is ‘Journey’. It depicts the journey of women. You can find the glimpses of Mughal and Victorian era in my designs. The touch, style shades will be from the Victorian era while the embroidery will depict the Mughal era. I feel that the designs depicted by them are truly time less fashions,” Mayyur told IBNS before the show.
Mayyur has mostly used fabrics like georgette and net in his designs besides using colours like pink, fawn.
“You will see the use of colours like pink, fawn. It is the journey of a woman that is depicted here. So I have used colours by keeping in mind that how a 22 years old woman is going to wear the forms and shape and at the same time how a newly marries woman or a club going woman is going to wear the dresses,” he said.
Along with heavy imprinted embroidery, the use of scarf in his designs grabbed attention of the spectators.
