Kolkata art gallery showcases works of north, eastern India: Exhibition ‘Uttar Purab’

Kolkata, Apr 20 (Calcutta Tube / IBNS): The art and painting lovers of the city can now witness the works of selected artists from north and eastern India as an exhibition titled ‘Uttar Purab’ was inaugurated at a gallery in Kolkata on Wednesday.
The exhibition was inaugurated by renowned artist Ramananda Bandyopadhyay on Wednesday evening and will continue till May 20.
[ReviewAZON asin=”1844483363″ display=”inlinepost”]Bandyopadhyay said, “I am very happy to see such a wonderful initiative. These kind of exhibitions give the artists a platform to show their talents.”
“There are many people who love paintings and sculptures, this exhibition will fulfill their desires,” he said.
He further added that the artists must bring out their ideas and thoughts through their works and make the viewers aware of vital issues of the society.
Curator of the exhibition, Archana Roy said, “We seldom get an opportunity to see the regional variety on a single platform. Uttar Purab will try to include artists from north and eastern India together.”
The event has been organized by the Emami Chisel Art (ECA) group and curated by Archana Roy.
