Koena Mitra, born January 7, 1979 in Kolkata, West Bengal, is an Indian actress and former model. Mitra trained with the Mamata Shankar ballet troupe for 12 years, although she would have chosen a career as a designer if she hadn’t become an actress. She initially gained prominence through winning Gladrags magazine’s “Mega Model Contest” in 2002. Mitra’s first break in Bollywood was in an item number in Ram Gopal Verma’s Road (“Khullam Khulla”). She also appeared in a Tamil film Dhool with actor Vikram in the title song. Mitra played the lead in Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena.
