Kolkata, Aug 26 (Calcutta Tube/IBNS): It was a completely different afternoon for the Tollywood beauty Rituparna Sengupta (Bengali Film Actress) as she was seen in a different avatar, alerting the people of this city about malaria on Thursday.
“It feels great to be associated with a movement to spread awareness about a fatal disease,” said Rituparna at the event where household-insecticide spray brand HIT launched a nationwide movement named ‘Kill Malaria’.
“The movement should help people understand the causes and precautions against the killer disease,” she said.
“We should ensure that we maintain a clean and hygienic atmosphere in our home to prevent ourselves from diseases which includes malaria,” she added.
The occasion also witnesses the launch of a website — www.killmalaria.com — where people can log in to find various kinds of information on malaria.
The country wide ‘Kill Malaria’ movement will urge citizens to form ‘HIT squads’ and spread awareness about the deadly mosquito borne disease in their locality.
The movement was launched in the top six metros of India which including Mumbai, Chennai, New Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore apart from Kolkata.
