Bangalore, Oct 19 (IANS) Karnataka will unveil three policies on information and communication technology (ICT), hardware and animation as part of its efforts to retain the number one spot in the hi-tech field.
Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee will release the policies at the 13th edition of India’s most premier ICT event, Bangalore IT.Biz here on Oct 28.
With ‘Billion Strong- Empowered by ICT’ as its theme, the three-day event attempts to showcase developments that IT has brought about in the country, Karnataka IT minister Katta Subramanya Naidu told reporters Tuesday.
A highlight of the event is ‘Vision 2020 LEADERSHIP SERIES’ during which high profile speakers would be sharing visionary thoughts on technology as an enabler.
They would present their perspectives on the existing scenario and take a peek into the future.
The speakers include Sam Pitroda, advisor to prime minister on public information infrastructure and innovations, Aaron Mankovski, chairman of Israel’s High Tech Industry Association (HTIA), Som Mittal, Nasscom president, Harsh Manglik, managing director of Accenture India, Usha Thorat, Reserve Bank Of India deputy governor, Pramod Bhasin, president, Genpact, N. Chandrasekaran, managing director, Tata Consultancy Services, and G.R. Gopinath, no-frills aviation pioneer and chairman and managing director of Deccan Charters Ltd.
There will be a ‘CEO-CIO Conclave’ with ICT captains and IT user groups and policy makers exchanging views and ideas.
This year’s event will also feature, like last year, an exclusive B2B (business to business) platform to help forging partnerships and alliances among the players in the domestic and international markets.
Bangalore IT.biz is organized by Karnataka’s IT, BT and Science and Technology departments and Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), Bangalore.
